# Privacy

> What stays private when you trade from your Vault, and what is public when you trade from your wallets.

Sonar has two places to trade from, and they don’t get the same privacy. Your **Vault** adds a layer at every step. Your **wallets** trade in public, like any wallet you use elsewhere, with private funding as an option.

> Email, Google or a DeFi wallet.

> **2. Fund**
>
> A fresh, single-use address every time you fund, so your funding transactions don’t link to each other.

> Funds sit in Sonar’s Vault, mapped to internal account IDs, not wallets.

>
> Rotating execution addresses on every chain, orders in dark order books until they fill.

> Send to any address. It leaves from Sonar, without a clear trail back to your activity.

> Wallets you generate or import trade from their own address, so their trades and balances are public on-chain. The privacy option they get is at funding.

> Turn on Private when you fund a wallet from an external address. The funds arrive without a direct link to where they came from. Groups are always funded this way.

>
> Strategies and swaps run from the wallet itself. Anyone can see them on the wallet’s address.

> Sends leave from the wallet’s own address.

> **On-Chain, Not Hidden**\
> Every trade still happens on-chain and is listed on your strategy with a transaction link. It just doesn’t point back to you.
