# Gas

> Wallets pay their own gas. Keep native token in each one so its trades can execute.

Every trade on-chain costs a network fee, paid in the chain’s native token (SOL, ETH, BNB). A wallet with none can’t execute, and in a group, every wallet needs its own.

>
> Sonar pays and recovers the gas fee, so there’s nothing to top up.

> Each wallet pays gas from its own native token balance. In a group, every wallet that trades needs some.

## When A Wallet Runs Out

The strategy pauses and you get an alert. Add native token to the wallet and resume the strategy: it continues where it left off.

## Top Up Gas

Fund the wallet with the chain’s native token, from outside or straight from your Vault. See the Wallet tab on [Fund Your Account](https://docs.sonar.trade/start/fund.md#2-pick-where-it-goes).

> [!WARNING]
>
> **Selling The Native Token Itself?**\
> Leave enough in the wallet for gas, or the strategy will pause before it finishes.
